Creating your own perfume brand or starting a cosmetics brand takes more than placing a logo on a product. From the outset, consider how you want customers to feel when they see the bottle, how they will distinguish variants, and how the box and label will work together.
At Packaging Design Center, we plan the design side of this journey. Depending on the agreed scope, we develop your logo, visual identity, packaging, labels, boxes and product presentations together. The result is a recognisable brand language across touchpoints, rather than a collection of unrelated visuals.
Where should you start with a private label perfume or cosmetics brand?
An entrepreneur searching for private label perfume is usually looking for a fragrance product and a manufacturing model that can carry their own brand. The manufacturer clarifies formulation, fragrance, filling and technical product options. The design work establishes the brand identity, bottle label and box in which that product will be presented.
Start with the product range, target customer and sales channel. A niche perfume collection, an everyday body mist range and a skincare brand need different packaging approaches. Considering price positioning alongside visual presentation makes later decisions easier.
Packaging design for new brands
Which designs can we prepare for your brand?
When we say ‘let’s design everything together’, we mean defining the elements your product needs at the proposal stage. You can start with one perfume box or plan a project covering the logo, packaging and launch visuals.
1. Brand identity and logo design
Your brand name, audience and product character guide the logo, colour palette and typography. The aim is an identity that remains recognisable on a small bottle label and a large promotional image. Logo design and a visual identity kit can be planned within the same project.
2. Perfume bottle labels and surface graphics
Bottle shape, artwork area and the relationship with the cap influence the design. Brand name, product name, range information and approved copy are laid out using the manufacturer’s dimensions. A stock bottle can still carry a distinctive identity. Developing a bottle mould or manufacturing the physical bottle is separate from graphic design.
3. Perfume boxes and cosmetics packaging
Perfume box design carries the bottle’s character onto the outer packaging. Cosmetics packaging may bring together cream jars, serum bottles, tubes and cartons. Colour, information hierarchy and continuity across surfaces help the product family look like one brand.
4. Final files and packaging artwork
Packaging artwork means applying the approved design to the production template. Cut and fold lines, bleed, safe areas and any special artwork layers are organised in the file. Final deliverables follow the design team’s technical requirements and the agreed scope. Use a final artwork checklist at this stage.
5. 3D product visuals and launch presentations
3D product visualisation can help you review the range before final approval, present it in a catalogue or prepare ecommerce product pages. The approved packaging can be used for a main product image, close-up or range composition. Any ecommerce and social media adaptations are defined separately.
From one perfume to a fragrance and care collection
As the collection grows, a master visual system helps avoid starting each product from scratch. Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, cologne, body mist and roll-on perfume oil can share a brand identity while clearly distinguishing their product type and use.
Room fragrance, reed diffusers, room sprays and scented candles may also join the collection. Their technical requirements differ; the design task is to translate the same brand character onto each suitable packaging surface. A narrow perfume label and a wide candle vessel cannot always be handled by simply resizing one layout.
For a cosmetics brand, serum, cream and cleanser products can share typography and colour principles. Each product name, volume and approved description is checked in its own layout. This helps customers recognise the brand and distinguish products within the range.
Plan fragrance development, production and design together
Fragrance development refers to the manufacturer’s work on scent direction and product formulation. When discussing custom fragrance or private label fragrance manufacturing, also ask for bottle, cap, label area and box dimensions. These inputs help the design fit the actual product.
Our service here is brand and packaging design. Formulation, filling, production quantities and product approval processes are agreed with your manufacturer. The manufacturer’s minimum order quantity is separate from design scope. Packaging design can also be evaluated separately according to material, quantity and proofing requirements.
What should your design brief include?
- Your brand: name, target audience, price positioning and desired visual character.
- Your products: perfume, body mist, cream or other categories, with variants and volumes.
- Technical files: bottle and cap information, label dimensions and the manufacturer’s box template.
- Content: existing logo files, approved product copy and language requirements.
- Deliverables: design files, editable source files, 3D visuals and your target date.
You can begin with the information you already have. We first identify missing inputs and design stages, then clarify the scope and schedule.
What does perfume and cosmetics brand design cost?
One label is a different scope from a brand project covering a logo, several boxes and launch visuals. Master designs, variant and size adaptations, revision stages and 3D visuals affect the price. Our packaging design cost guide explains the main factors.
For example, labels for three scents in the same bottle differ from work across three bottle shapes and box sizes. Listing master design, variant adaptations and additional presentation visuals separately makes the budget easier to understand.

Frequently asked questions
I have a brand idea but no logo. Can we start?
Yes. Share your brand name, target audience and product category. We can scope logo and visual identity work alongside the packaging design.
My contract perfume manufacturer is selected. Can you prepare the artwork?
Yes. Share the bottle and label dimensions, box template and approved product copy supplied by your manufacturer. We can develop the design files around those inputs.
Does this service include perfume production or fragrance formulation?
The service presented here covers brand design, packaging and product visuals. Fragrance formulation, filling and manufacturing are planned separately with your producer.
Can you design different cosmetics under one brand?
Yes. We can plan adaptations for different labels, boxes and product formats while retaining the master brand identity. Each product’s dimensions and copy are considered separately.
Which files will I receive?
The proposal specifies final PDFs, editable source files and any 3D product visuals. File formats, revision stages and additional adaptations are agreed before the project begins.
